Sheridan Smith's Funny Girl bosses have told her to "take it easy" in the heatwave
The 35-year-old pleased her adoring fans when she reprised her role as Fanny Brice in the production, and was snapped on her first night back greeting and hugging fans outside the Savoy Theatre in London.
However, after failing to do her usual meetings after a performance on Tuesday, The C Word star's bosses explained that they had told her to rest up in Britain's current extreme temperatures.
Producers Sonia Friedman, David Babani and Scott Landis told The Sun: "Given the number of people at stage door and the amount of time it takes for Sheridan to see everyone, we - the producers - advised Sheridan not to sign every night, particularly during the heatwave.
They added: "In our experience it is unrealistic to expect a leading actor to sign after every performance."
