HAVING been a household name since the 1960s Sir Michael Caine knows a thing or two about the trappings of fame.

SIR MICHAEL CAINE
GETTY
Sir Michael Caine is 'socially a communist' and treats everyone equally
And the 83-year-old reckons the reason he has never had a problem being in the public eye is because he has always taken fame with a pinch of salt.
“I never took it seriously. People say on the set, ‘How do I address you as you are Sir Michael Caine’, but I say, ‘Just call me Michael. Everyone calls me that’,” he said during a 60 Minutes With Michael Caine Q&A in London’s Chinatown.
And the Rotherhithe-born star, the son of a fish porter father and mother who was a cook, also advocates a policy of treating people equally… with only one exception, wife Shakira.
